Our last day or so in Tokyo and then the 14 hour flight back home.

More medical stuff as we approach departure day and worry about flying with bronchitis.

Our first day in Tokyo involved a lovely public garden and the adventure of a room on the 23rd floor of our hotel.

Our final day’s activity is packing.

Gabrielle flies solo again and takes the bullet train to Kyoto and then freezes as she visits cultural landmarks.

Nickis having a bit of a poor end to the cruise part of this holiday. Perhaps Tokyo will provide a boost?

Gabrielle’s second solo outing to take in golden temples, ancient bridges and a rickshaw ride through the bamboo forest.

A variety of activities as we reach Japan and make our first moves.

Another exhausting but brilliant day, exploring the UNESCO sites of South Korea.

Our second visit to Seoul, just in time for the changing of the guard at the number one palace in the city. There are five in total and yesterday we saw number five.

A busy day, visiting Seoul, steeped in history and with a good five mile walk.

Our second and third day at sea and there’s still plenty of paranoia to go round.

An unexpectedly hilarious first tour as we set foot in Taiwan.

Our relief at actually reaching the ship in time manifests itself in wine consumption.

It was a close run thing, but we got there: last guests on board!

The best laid plans oft will gang awry. And, boy, did ours!
